Duality Rules
Duality is a game intended to showcase a thrower’s ability to adapt from one implement and throwing style to another by throwing 1 Axe and 1 Knife back to back. There is no dictated “spin” for Knife or Axe and any distance, so a player may choose to throw No Spin/Half Spin/Instinctive Spin/Standard Rotational/etc. Players can use Risk VS Reward strategy on when they throw at the Wild Cards and with which Implement, creating a dynamic and exciting game. Duality can be played Solo, but is more fun head to head.
-Uses Left and Right targets, and includes Wild Card bonus targets (10 points) (Cards must be centered above the bullseye and aligned with the inner edge of the 1 point ring. Refer to drawing for locations). The Wild Card can be a standard playing card pinned to the target, or a traced/painted card.
-The center 4” Bullseye is worth 5 points, the 4”-8” ring is worth 4 points, the 8”-12” ring is worth 3 points, the 12”-16” ring is worth 2 points, and the outer 16”-20” ring is worth 1 point. Any sticks beyond the outer ring is worth Zero. Wildcards are worth 10 points, but if called and missed the score is a zero.
-Uses 3m, 4m & 5m distances
-Total of 4 sets (12 Axe/ 12 Knife per set)
- Wild Cards are open at any time, but are limited to 6 Knife and 6 Axe (12 total) per Game. See below for Game Play Examples for further clarification.
- The Player must announce that they are throwing for the Wild Card prior to throwing each Implement.
- The Player must Cross out the Wild Card Implement used on the scorecard to keep track.
- Missing the Wild Card will result in zero points regardless of where the implement lands.
- Max points 180

Game Play Examples & Strategies:
The player can take many approaches to the game that will showcase their skills with each implement. A skilled Axe thrower may choose to use all their Axe WC throws at 3m for easy bonus points. A well rounded thrower may choose to throw their Knife WCs at 3m and Axe WCs at 4m. A conservative player may save all their WC throws for the third set if they feel like they need to make up points. Players can mix and match as long as they do not exceed 6 WCs used per implement.
